Intern at Wild Earth

At Wild Earth, we value interns as integral members of the farm community. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of farm life, from working in the organic gardens, caring for rescued animals, increasing our sustainability and regenerative measures, developing permaculture designs, building and construction projects, and education and outreach in the community.

We look for interns who are deeply about animals and the earth and who are reliable, responsible, dedicated, and who are hard workers. Our internships are volunteer-based, and we supply room and board in exchange for an agreed upon number of volunteer hours.

After farm work, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, exploring, foraging, swimming, caving, and other fun on the farm!

During your internship, the Wild Earth staff may give you advice on a project or certain feedback. How do you typically handle constructive feedback?

We offer free housing and vegan meals for all interns. Possible housing includes a private bedroom in our main house/office with our other Wild Earth staff (which includes a little girl), or in our guest house, an old rustic one-room church. We live simply, utilizing resources such as rainwater cisterns for drinking water, composting toilets or outdoor outhouses, and currently have limited internet access. We are ten miles from stores and other resources in downtown Irvine, KY. How do you feel about these things?
